Bretzel en Orbite
Mission Bretzel-1 · Multi-Spectral Environmental Monitor
ISU has been in Strasbourg for 30 years. Not a single satellite has been built here to serve
the region that hosts it. Bretzel en Orbite changes that. For €500,000, Alsace gets its own
eyes in orbit, built by its own people.
🛰️ The Mission
Multi-spectral environmental monitoring of the Alsace-Rhine corridor: urban heat islands,
vineyard health along the 170km Route des Vins, Rhine wetland tracking,
and Vosges forest health indices.
🥨 The Impact
Data goes directly to the Eurométropole, Atmo Grand Est, and Chambre d'Agriculture.
The first satellite ever built in Alsace, for Alsace. A public service, not a science experiment.
Alsatian dialect greetings stored onboard.
📡 Payload
- Compact VNIR multi-spectral imager
