How to Play Minesweeper

The goal is to uncover all cells that do not contain mines.

Click on a cell to reveal it.

If you reveal a mine (💣), you lose the game.

If a revealed cell has a number, it indicates how many mines are adjacent (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally).

Use numbers to deduce safe cells and mine locations.

Right-click or Ctrl-click (Cmd-click on Mac) on an unrevealed cell to plant a flag (🚩) if you suspect a mine. This will also decrease the flag counter if the game has started.

Right-click or Ctrl-click again to remove a flag.

If a numbered cell is revealed, and you have flagged a matching number of adjacent cells, you can click the numbered cell again (this is called chording) to automatically reveal its remaining unflagged neighbors. Be careful, if your flags are wrong, this might reveal a mine!

Win by revealing all non-mine cells.
