The Mission
Deploy autonomous intelligence into the dark. In this workshop, you will train Neural Networks using Deep Reinforcement Learning to pilot drone swarms through the unmapped lava tubes of Arsia Mons. Your agents must learn to navigate complex 3D environments, avoid collisions, and generate critical maps of these subterranean voids entirely without human intervention.
3-Day Intensive Schedule
DAY 00
The Toolbelt
- Unity 2022 LTS: Install the game engine.
- Python 3.10: Set up the neural network environment.
- ML-Agents: Bridge the two worlds.
DAY 01
The Hidden Void
- Environment Design: Modeling terrestrial cave systems (Karst/Limestone).
- Digital Perception: Implementing Raycast (Lidar) sensors for dark zones.
- Stable Flight: Training the agent to maintain altitude in 1G.
DAY 02
The Logic of Survival
- Reward Engineering: Designing the "Carrot & Stick" for navigation.
- Scaled Training: Running 50+ concurrent agents for rapid iteration.
- Obstacle Avoidance: Navigation through boulders and stalactites.
DAY 03
Deployment
- Sim-to-Real Gap: Hardening models for real-world environmental noise.
- Duo Coordination: Mobile base-station and Drone Scout synchronization.
- Grand Finale: The 3-minute autonomous Subterranean Run.
