1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the AS26 Advanced Studies website and related services (the "Site"), operated by the International Space University ("ISU", "we", "our", "us"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use the Site.

2. Description of Service

The Site provides educational content, course materials, project management tools, and collaborative resources for students enrolled in the AS26 Advanced Studies program at ISU. Access to certain areas of the Site may require authentication.

3. User Accounts & Authentication

Certain features of the Site require you to sign in using Google Authentication via Firebase. By creating an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information during registration.
  • Maintain the security and confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Intellectual Property

All content on the Site — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, course materials, lecture slides, code templates, and software — is the property of ISU or its content creators and is protected by international copyright and intellectual property laws.

  • Course materials are provided for personal educational use only.
  • You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or commercially exploit any content without prior written permission from ISU.
  • Student project work remains the intellectual property of the respective student teams, subject to any agreements made during the program.

5. Student Projects & Code

Projects developed during the AS26 program are subject to the following conditions:

  • Students retain ownership of their original code and concepts.
  • ISU reserves the right to showcase student projects in promotional and educational materials with appropriate attribution.
  • Any code templates, starter kits, or boilerplate provided by ISU remain the property of ISU and are licensed for educational use only.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Site to:

  • Upload or transmit any content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, or otherwise objectionable.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site, other accounts, or computer systems.
  • Use the Site for any commercial purpose without express written consent from ISU.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Site's infrastructure, servers, or networks.
  • Scrape, harvest, or collect data from the Site without authorization.

7. Third-Party Services

The Site integrates with third-party services including but not limited to Google Analytics, Firebase, GitHub, and Stripe. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. ISU is not responsible for the practices of third-party service providers.

8. Payment & Transactions

If the Site facilitates payment processing (e.g., through Stripe API or PayPal), all transactions are subject to the terms of the respective payment processor. ISU does not store credit card information directly. Refund policies are governed by the specific program or service agreement.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • The Site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
  • ISU shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the Site.
  • ISU's total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you, if any, for accessing the Site.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ISU, its officers, directors, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising out of your use of the Site or violation of these Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of France. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Strasbourg, France.

12. Modifications

ISU reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Site after modifications constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
